A chance of showers through early next week

TUCSON –  Expect thunderstorm chances this weekend into early next week.

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms developed across Santa Cruz and Cochise counties this afternoon. Some storms generated strong gusty winds, locally heavy rain, and hail. A 40% chance of isolated showers will be possible this evening in Tucson.

Tomorrow, another round of showers will be possible tomorrow morning and tomorrow afternoon in Tucson. A 30% chance of showers is in place Sunday in Tucson.

These showers, along with this deep moisture will also decrease Southern Arizona’s temperatures. Expect temperatures to fall back to near or below average for most of the week.

  • Tomorrow: Near-average temperatures (30%). High: 76°
  • Tomorrow night: Isolated showers possible (30%). Low: 71°
  • Monday: Below-average temperatures (30%). High: 97°

Toward the middle of next week, dry air will move into the region. This will limit our chances for showers in Tucson.
