Baby Spinach recall due to potential Salmonella contamination

NBC NEWS-A new consumer recall is underway involving baby spinach.

Dole Fresh Vegetables have recalled a limited number of cases of baby spinach due to concerns of potential Salmonella contamination. The products include six-ounce bags of dole baby spinach and ten-ounce bags of dole baby spinach clamshell. Both products have “use by” dates of August 5th, 2019.

Food and Drug Administration said the recall was issued after a random sample of baby spinach tested positive for Salmonella by Michigan’s Department of Agriculture. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

The impacted products were distributed in ten states including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.
